In the September 16 episode of General Hospital, Sonny found himself doling out some words of wisdom to Nina and Tracy of all people. One of them sought him out, while the other just randomly ran into him. Sonny showed both women he’s not the same man he used to be, and they should listen to him.
Key Takeaways
- Nina told Sonny about the WSB and Jack.
- Tracy turned to Sonny for help.
- Sonny has come a long way.
Nina Gets Called Out
At the Metro Court Gardens, Nina (Cynthia Watros) ran into Sonny (Maurice Benard), who admitted she needed a lawyer, so she just left a message for Ric (Rick Hearst). Nina then filled Sonny in on the WSB coming for her because of a missing Jack (Chris McKenna), and she blamed Carly (Laura Wright) for it.
Sonny saw right through Nina’s act and wanted to know the full story as he insisted Carly wouldn’t throw her under the bus without evidence. Nina admitted to having a public fight with Jack that Carly witnessed.
Even though Nina declared she had no idea where Jack was, Sonny agreed she needed to get a lawyer if the WSB was involved.
Tracy Got an Unexpected Response From Sonny
Sonny left Nina to meet with Tracy (Jane Elliot). It turned out the meeting was Tracy’s idea and had everything to do with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton).
In true Tracy fashion, she wanted to meddle in Brook Lynn’s life, but this time it wasn’t about Chase (Josh Swickard). Tracy asked Sonny to help fix things between Brook Lynn and Gio (Giovanni Mazza).
Sonny didn’t jump at the chance to interfere, which honestly shocked Tracy a bit. After all, she thought Sonny would have done anything for Brook Lynn.
What happened instead was Sonny called out Tracy for butting into Brook Lynn’s life. Sonny expressed that Tracy was focused on fixing Gio and Brook Lynn because she couldn’t fix Brook Lynn and Chase.
Not The Same Old Sonny
It looks like leaving the mob wasn’t the only life change for Sonny. The once-explosive reactor, who would go to great lengths to help his loved ones, has taken a step back and found his voice of reason.
Sonny clocked Nina’s half-truth in an instant and wasted no time looking for the whole truth. The exchange was calm, cool, and collected. Even when Nina blamed Carly, Sonny was chill and gave her a reality check.
Tracy certainly didn’t expect Sonny to call her out the way he did. Let’s be honest, Tracy needed to be called out, but having Sonny do it was not on anyone’s bingo card. Along with that, Tracy almost seemed to be taking him seriously.
A new version of Sonny has landed in Port Charles. The question is just how long it will last.
