The General Hospital recap features a touching memorial for Britt Westbourne in the hospital chapel.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

In this episode, Port Charles residents gathered together to pay tribute to Britt and bid her farewell. Also in the hospital, Laura tried to get through to Nikolas as Spencer asked Jordan what might happen to Esme’s baby. Speaking of babies, Sonny, Nina, and friends cooed over Willow’s giant bundle of joy, and Elizabeth blasted Nik before telling Finn the truth. Over at Spring Ridge, Heather did everything she could to talk Esme out of signing those papers as she and Ryan devised a new plan. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.

Britt Westbourne: A Tender Tribute To The Britch

Liesl (Kathleen Gati) and Scott (Kin Shriner) arrived at Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) now-empty hospital office and Liesl wasn’t sure that she wanted to go to a public memorial. Brad (Parry Shen) soon arrived still angry that Britt didn’t tell him that she had Huntington’s Disease. Liesl explained that Britt didn’t want him to take care of her but would have wanted him to be the same snarky friend he had always been. Once alone, Brad took out a container of ice cream and two spoons as his own private memorial to his friend.

In the hospital chapel, Nina (Cynthia Watros) spoke first and said she was proud to know Britt as her cousin for the last few years. Then, Brad remembered all of Britt’s good deeds and misdeeds, including setting Emma Scorpio Drake’s (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) doll on fire years ago. Scott said some words about his girlfriend’s daughter and Terry (Cassandra James) spoke next. To conclude the memorial, Terry brought everyone to the wall of photos with people who contributed to GH over the years. Britt’s portrait joined Steve Hardy (John Beradino), Lila Quartermaine (Anna Lee), and Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon), among others.

Finally, everyone went to peek in on Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) big, healthy ‘premature’ baby to remember how new life begins.

GH Recap: Nikolas Has A Million Problems

Nikolas (Adam Huss) played dumb when Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) mentioned that her mother was in town but Liz told him that he could stop the act because she knew he was the one who summoned Carolyn (Denise Crosby) to make sure Esme’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) memories stay buried for good. Nikolas insisted he did it for both of them to keep them out of jail, but Elizabeth told him she knew he wasn’t that altruistic and was only looking out for himself. She then announced that they were no longer in this together.

Nikolas chased Elizabeth to the nurses’ station, and when he put his hand on her arm, Finn (Michael Easton) showed up and demanded that Nik not touch her. Elizabeth calmed Finn down and took him to his office to talk. That’s when she announced that she was never pregnant with Nikolas’s baby.

Laura (Genie Francis) was tasked with calming her son down and telling him that she didn’t know how to reach him. She asked if he had now become someone who was under Victor’s (Charles Shaughnessy) thumb, bouncing from one bad decision to the next. Nikolas promised her he was determined to do better both by Spencer and his new baby.

When Laura and Nik found Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) in the chapel, he was ready to go to war with his dad after already getting assurances from Jordan that a relative might be tasked with taking care of Esme’s baby if she is still behind bars after it’s born.

General Hospital Recap: All About Esme

Over at Spring Ridge, Heather (Alley Mills) saw Esme reading the papers that Nikolas gave her and urged Esme not to sign them. She was shocked to see that Nikolas is her grandchild’s father and warned Esme that she can’t trust him as he will take her baby from her for good. Esme had to admit that she wants to keep her child because the baby is all she has.

Esme also noticed Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) staring at her and first thought it was that nice Dr. Collins, but Heather explained it was his twin brother who can’t move or speak. He can only communicate with his eyes. (Sure, Jan.) Heather then made her way over to Ryan where she loudly whispered that they need to break out of there fast and take a pregnant Esme with them.
