The GH spoilers recap for Friday, September 2, 2022, features Spencer Cassadine just trying to get some rest and then getting a big surprise.
After learning his father slept with his girlfriend, getting drunk, and discovering Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) had been stabbed, all Spencer wanted was a shower and a nap, but his sleep didn’t go well because Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) invaded his dreams — or rather, his nightmare.

All of Spencer’s guilt and feelings of inadequacy came out via Esme, as Nightmare Esme taunted Spencer about how he just wasn’t experienced enough for her so she needed Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) to satisfy her instead. Nightmare Esme also told Spencer that despite all his hard work, he lost Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) anyway.
When Spencer woke, he started writing a letting to Trina, pouring out his feelings, but Cameron Webber (William Lipton) stopped by and interrupted it all. Spencer was touched when Cam said they were friends and he would visit him in Pentonville.
Cameron also had a talk with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) before visiting Spencer and learned all about how Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) helped her save Ava. Later, Joss looked everywhere for Avery Corinthos’s (Ava and Grace Scarola) charm bracelet and Dex was there to help as they headed for the hospital dumpsters.
Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) was thrilled to finally visit with Ava but was disgusted when Ava told her that Nikolas betrayed her in the worst way — by sleeping with Esme. Nina could tell there was more Ava wanted to say, but Ava refrained from telling her friend about Esme’s fall from the parapet. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) interrupted them and later demanded to know what Nina and Ava were talking about.
Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) still looked like death since she is allowing herself to get closer to actual death by not having her cancer treated. Instead, she forged on with life as a nurse while pregnant, dealing with leukemia, and made excuses for being so tired.
Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) did manage to convince her to cut back her hours, but Willow still refused to tell Michael Corinthos (temporarily played by Robert Adamson) what is going on.
Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) began making out at the Metro Court pool when Linc Brown (Dan Buran) found them and chastised this allegedly professional relationship for turning personal. Chase then told Linc that he decided Brook Lynn will be his manager, but this was apparently all part of the grand plan to bring Linc down.
Finally, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) discussed moving in together again with Sam suggesting they plunge right in and do it the next day. Dante was a bit hesitant at first but then agreed.
