The GH spoilers recap for Monday, May 23, 2022, features Elizabeth Webber desperate to know why she would do such horrible things.
When all of Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) initial test results came back perfectly normal, she knew she couldn’t use the brain tumor defense like her late husband Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) could. However, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) kept insisting sleeping pills had to make Liz do what she did, so Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) ordered more tests.
Finn also insisted that Liz would never hurt anyone, even when sleepwalking, but she pointed out she hurt Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and then apologized to Chase. After Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) told Liz there could be something psychological going on, she made a decision to seek help away from the people she loves just in case she hurts them too.
Although it was Nina Reeves’s (Cynthia Watros) day to bring her case for Wiley visitation rights before a judge, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) needed a private yoga class in the morning just to deal with the anguish. When Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) showed up and tried to warn Carly that she and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) were making a mistake, she didn’t buy it. They pointed out Wiley might become resentful like Michael did when he learned Sonny Corinthos and Carly kept him from knowing AJ Quartermaine. Carly still called Nina a narcissist and then showed up at court just when she got a text about DNA tests.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was horrified to learn Sonny planned to testify on Nina’s behalf and tried to talk him out of it, but Sonny wasn’t deterred. He was going to help Nina and hurt Michael no matter what. Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael were also horrified when they heard the news, but Nina fought them both and also tried to reason with them. When that didn’t work, she pulled her own proverbial punches and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) had to break things up. Maxie was also stunned when Michael compared Nina to Peter August (Wes Ramsey).
As Nina fought with Michael and Willow before court began, the Quartermaine kitchen was also the scene of an argument when Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) oddly told Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) that not having media experience excludes him from being ELQ’s CEO. So, what media experience did Drew have before he bought Aurora, being an ex-hitman and Navy SEAL and all?
Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) was as angered as her dad when she heard a demo of one of her songs that her old manager sold. She immediately called Chase for help.
Finally, over in Brooklyn, TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) told Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) that he found antipsychotic medication with Marshall Ashford’s (Robert Gossett) things and they realized Marshall left them because of the stigma of mental illness 40 years ago. When Curtis went into Marshall’s room and begged him to wake up, a miracle happened when Marshall opened his eyes.
