The GH spoilers recap for Thursday, May 12, 2022, features Elizabeth Webber convinced that she was finally able to speak to her late husband.
When Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) begged Chelsea (Jen Ray) the medium to allow her to talk to Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), it seemed as if Franco spoke to Elizabeth through Chelsea, telling her to believe in herself and not look away from what’s right there in front of her eyes. That’s just about when Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) burst into Liz’s living room and ruined the moment.
A tearful Elizabeth was absolutely apoplectic that Finn and Laura took her chance to talk to Franco away from her and looked like she couldn’t care less about anything they had to say as she explained what happened. Laura convinced Liz to come home with her and Finn stayed behind to talk to Chelsea, telling her how horrible it was to lie to a vulnerable woman.
Chelsea said she could say the same to him as Elizabeth asked if he thought she was crazy and he dodged the question. She then chastised Finn for not giving Liz comfort and support when she so desperately needs it. Finn looked shook after she left.
When Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) asked what Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) were doing in their living room, Drew lied and said he happened upon Carly looking for them at the gatehouse and let her in with his key. Carly claimed she just wanted to be there to support them and Willow gave her a key of her own. They also told Carly about Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) visiting Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) grave and how that just ruined their night visiting with Willow’s baby Jonah.
Drew tried to come to Nina’s defense and when Carly later asked him why he did that, he said maybe it’s time Willow doesn’t hate Nina so much if she turns out to be her real mother. To that end, Carly spotted Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and asked her about running a DNA test.
Speaking of Britt, she was shocked when she discovered how potent the pill Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) wanted to be identified was. She warned him that this was a strong opioid that could cause people to stagger and lose chunks of time if taken with alcohol. She was worried that Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) was taking this drug and Spencer changed the subject by rudely criticizing Britt’s love life. At least he seemed to realize Esme gave this drug to Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali).
As for Esme, she paid a visit to her Daddy at Spring Ridge because she seemed to need someone to talk to. Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) was all ears as Esme fessed up to everything, including Spencer finding the letters from Nanny Maggie. Ryan was furious that Esme could ruin everything they worked for and Esme assured him she was still young and had time to save herself. She even told him she’d sacrifice him for her own sake.
Ryan then told Esme that attitude reminded him so much of her mother, a woman who had an instinct for self-preservation. Then, he flashed way, way back to the 1990s when he had Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) captive and she defended herself with a knife.
Felicia also had another busy night of babysitting and invited Nina in for popcorn when she stopped by to see Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). The two women talked about sacrifices and Felicia alluded to sacrifice and mistakes she made as a mother that she’d had to own up to.
