The General Hospital recap for August 10, 2023, features Trina deciding to take matters into her own hands when it came to Curtis.
In this episode, Curtis and Trina had a long talk while Marshall tried to be there for Portia. Olivia and Carly tried to have a girls’ night out only to experience some bad results. Sam had the perfect idea for Maxie’s living arrangements. And finally, Dante and Anna theorized about the Pikeman Group. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
Portia (Brook Kerr) wasn’t happy that Trina (Tabyana Ali) left within hours of moving back home, but at least Marshall (Robert Gossett) was there for her to talk to. He told her how grateful he was to her for helping him learn he didn’t have schizophrenia and she told him she did it selfishly when she initially just wanted to know if Trina carried the gene. Portia also blamed herself for Curtis’s (Donnell Turner) condition but Marshall assured her that she wasn’t at fault.

Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) found Curtis trying to move his legs and feeling frustrated. She tried to be positive about him going to rehab but Curtis wasn’t having it. She finally had to leave him before Finn walked in and told Curtis someone was there to see him. It was Trina. Curtis agreed to let her in to his room.
Trina immediately apologized for being angry at him for kissing Jordan (Tanisha Harper). She felt bad about pulling away from him and just hoped that they could learn to be close. Curtis assured her she did nothing wrong and told her he was sorry for pushing her away. He just wishes he could be the type of dad who could still rescue her as he did in Greenland.
Carly (Laura Wright) and Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) decided to have a night out at the Highsider bar where Carly ran right into Neddie (Wally Kurth). Carly was stunned when Neddie started flirting with her. When Olivia returned from the ladies’ room, Neddie was surprised to see her there but tried pawning her off on another man so he could talk to Carly. Neddie was persistent but Carly tried to just point him in Olivia’s direction. She tried to play up how nice the Quartermaines are and how if they got to know the new him, they would accept them. She had Jason (Steve Burton) in mind when she told him the Quartermaines had been through this before.
Meanwhile, Mason (Nathanyael Grey) appeared and started coming onto Olivia. She had no desire to talk to him but he wouldn’t keep his hands off her. That meant a bar brawl had to break out between Neddie and Mason, and it did. It was up to Carly to hit Mason over the head with a beer bottle in order to stop him.
Maxie (Kirsten Storms) once again had trouble with her bickering kids, but Sam (Kelly Monaco) did her best to talk it out with James when Maxie sent Georgie to bed. When James went to bed, Maxie admitted she was having a hard time finding a house, so Sam had a solution. Why not rent Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu’s old house? Maxie felt uncomfortable about it considering how much she missed Lulu. She wasn’t sure if she could take over her friend’s house.
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was surprised to see Kristina (Kate Mansi) in her living room watching TV. Kristina just wanted to know why her mom was out so late. Alexis told her all about the axe bar. The subject then turned to the business books that Sam gave Kristina. Alexis was proud that Kristina resisted throwing them at Sam when she gave them to her, but realized her daughter just planned to burn them in the fireplace.
Kristina denied it but admitted that Sam hurt her feelings. Still, she was grateful for the books and Alexis was impressed that she actually planned to read them.
Dante went to Anna’s (Finola Hughes) to discuss the Metro Court pool shooting case while someone was clearly lurking outside. Anna informed Dante that she thought the Pikeman Group could have been involved. He had never heard of the company so Anna explained how many former WSB members end up working for them, including Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). She was sure the WSB was currently in cahoots with Pikeman and their operations in Port Charles.
