The GH recap for Tuesday, December 20, 2022, features Elizabeth Webber, willing to say anything to get Ava Jerome Cassadine to stop threatening to destroy her.

GH Recap Highlights

In this episode, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) blurted out another lie about Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) ‘baby.’ Also, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) was more disillusioned with his father than ever, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) made sure Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) parentage remained hidden, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) debated telling Cameron Webber (William Lipton) the truth, and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) had a hard time dealing with Rory Cabrera’s (Michael Blake Kruse) death. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.

Ava (Maura West) was relentless when she found Elizabeth in the hospital chapel and couldn’t wait to dig into her for having an affair with her husband. When Elizabeth pointed out that Ava had already left Nikolas when this alleged affair took place, Ava told her she was always leaving Nikolas, but she never really meant it. After Ava threatened to make sure Liz lost everything for this indiscretion and taunted her about a happily-ever-after fantasy with a baby, Elizabeth blurted out that there is no baby because she had a miscarriage.

This got Ava to back off, and when she left, Liz immediately called Nikolas and told her that it was done, and Ava now knows there won’t be a baby. However, Nik warned her that she is already in too deep with him, and there is no turning back now. Once alone in the chapel, Liz lamented to God about the horrible year she has had and found herself wondering if she is a bad person.

Spencer definitely thinks his father is a bad person and let him know it in no uncertain terms when Nikolas informed him he had an affair with Elizabeth. A horrified Spencer asked how he could ever look Cameron Webber in the face again. He told Nikolas that he never had a lower opinion of him and promised he would be moving out as soon as his official Pentonville sentence was over.

General Hospital Recap: Carly Rescues Herself…For Now

Carly thought quickly as soon as she saw Denise McKenzie (Alex Reitveld) sitting with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) at Charlie’s. As Denise tried to leave because she didn’t like being called a liar, Carly sat down and assured Denise that if she was trying to protect Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel), then she could tell the truth now because it would be worth her while.

Drew somehow didn’t seem to catch Carly saying that line as Denise admitted that Harmony arrived at the commune and already had a baby, claiming she got the child from a friend named Joan. Denise then told both Carly and Drew that Harmony always seemed to be looking over her shoulder. Carly made sure to give Denise her gloves when she left, along with some cash, while Drew wondered if maybe Harmony stole the baby she raised.

GH Recap: Catching Up

At the bar, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) tried to ignore Carly and told Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) all about Willow Tait passing out when they had a fight and how she was glad she and Carly could come together to help her. She then remembered how excited she was to be pregnant as a young wife and wondered if her marriage to Silas Clay (Michael Easton) could have been saved by their child.

GH Recap: Josslyn’s Dilemma, Dante’s Determination

While Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) waited for Josslyn’s new permanent bodyguard to arrive, he apologized to Joss for causing problems between her and Cameron. Joss then admitted that she was the problem and she had been avoiding Cam for a while and needed to be honest with him. When Dex asked if she regretted their kiss, she couldn’t give him an answer.

Dante was clearly affected by Rory’s death, and now that he and Mac were sure it was The Hook who killed him, they became more determined than ever to track this murderer down.

Finally, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) worried about Dante and the fact that he did not come home the night before. When she ran into Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) at the boxing gym, she also alarmed Dante’s friend, so he called Mac Scorpio (John J. York) and managed to track Dante down and bring him to the gym to reunite with Sam.
