The GH recap for Monday, December 19, 2022, features Drew Cain realizing his new friend Denise McKenzie is a lying liar, but he didn’t yet learn his girlfriend is the head lying liar in this Willow Tait operation.
GH Recap Highlights
In this episode, Drew (Cameron Mathison) compared Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) notes with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) while Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) attempted to be a good mother. Also, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) got some big baby news, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) was shocked by Ava Jerome Cassadine’s (Maura West) latest drama, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) declared independence from Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) debated what to do about their pregnant prisoner in a tower.
Drew met with Alexis and told her all about Denise (Alex Reitveld) and how her story about a woman named Joan on a commune matched Harmony’s story just a little too perfectly. In fact, Drew checked records from that time and found no evidence of a woman named Joan, much less a pregnant woman, living in a commune in that area.

Alexis also did some digging and discovered no woman named Joan had died, or OD’d where Denise claimed she found Willow’s phantom mother. Alexis and Drew lamented how much of a liar Harmony was when Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) walked over to the table to essentially agree with them, but she did not reveal more, and they didn’t ask.
When Denise showed up at Charlie’s, Drew asked her to sit down for a bit and informed her that he knew she wasn’t leveling with him. Of course, that was just when Carly, the mastermind behind this mess, walked in.
At the hospital, an unsuspecting Willow and Michael learned that they were going to have a baby girl, and Willow vowed she would fight to stay alive for her daughter. Maybe Willow should tell some more people she has cancer so her friends and loved ones can see if they are a coincidental bone marrow match.
General Hospital Recap: Carly Comforts Joss, Sonny Gifts Her Dex
In between lies and bribes, Carly found time to be a comforting mother to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) after her ordeal the night before watching Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) grieve the cop she was dating. Then, the conversation turned to Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) as Joss wondered how she could be attracted to a man who works for Sonny Corinthos. (Maurice Benard).
In a stunning moment of self-awareness, Carly told Joss she would be a hypocrite if she told her daughter not to date a man involved with the mob. Soon, Sonny showed up at his old house and announced that Dex would now be Josslyn’s bodyguard and nobody had any objections to that news. When Sonny and Carly both left, Joss broke down crying in Dex’s arms.
GH Recap: Nikolas And Liz Form A Plan, Chase Fires BLQ
Nina and Sonny were both shocked when they found Ava at her gallery surrounded by broken glass. Ava didn’t return home to Nina’s apartment the night before, and they were worried. Once alone, Ava told Nina all about Nikolas’s alleged affair and new baby with Elizabeth Webber, and Nina couldn’t believe her ears.
At the GH chapel, Nikolas tracked down Elizabeth as she was having a crisis of conscience. She wanted to go to the police and get out of this mess, but Nikolas emotionally blackmailed her into keeping his secret. To his credit, he admitted that emotional blackmail was exactly what he was up to.
Elizabeth finally decided they were both in too deep now, so they would have to continue their lie about her carrying his child. It’s a sacrifice she would just have to make, so the pair concocted a new plan. Too bad they did so on the commercial break, so we still don’t know what the specifics of this plan are. After Nikolas left to execute this plan, Elizabeth was surprised to see Ava walk in, looking as if she was ready to rumble.
Finally, at the boxing gym, Brook Lynn Quartermine begged Chase to still record his duet with Blaze, but Chase didn’t want to hear it. All he wants to do is be a cop, and he didn’t care when he learned BLQ did write him a recommendation letter — she just did it a little too late. In fact, Chase broke Brook Lynn’s heart when he said he wanted to sever all ties with her. Will he stick to that proclamation?
