The GH recap for Tuesday, December 13, 2022, features Carly Spencer getting called out on being the terrible person that she is.
In this episode, Carly (Laura Wright) was forced to pay more money to keep up with her lies as Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) finally deduced what should be obvious to anyone with eyes. Also, as Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) cried in his cornflakes over Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) fake pregnancy, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) tried to figure out how to keep people from moving into Wyndemere. Finally, at GH, Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) and Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) got into a boy fight that spelled the end of one boring and bad relationship. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
Carly was relieved to hear that Denise McKenzie (Alex Reitveld) told Drew that Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) birth mother is dead, but was dismayed to learn she’d have to pay up to give Willow a dead birth dad (who really is dead — remember Silas Clay?).
With all the non-self-awareness she could muster, Carly called Denise a terrible person and all Denise could do was laugh and say at least she knows what she is. She then asked Carly to look in the mirror because she is paying someone to lie that a young woman’s mother is dead. Carly still didn’t get it.

Meanwhile, Willow told Drew he had no idea how much finding her birth mother meant to her, and a bell went off in Drew’s head as he remembered all the times Willow seemed much sicker than she should have if she was pregnant and healthy. He asked her if she was sick, and as she tried to lie, Drew reminded her he knows what cancer looks like thanks to his dead son, Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt). Willow then confessed that, yes, she has stage four leukemia. As expected, she begged Drew not to tell anyone in case people start looking at her funny.
Carly’s ex-husband and Willow’s actual mother remained oblivious to what was going on as Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) told Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) she didn’t want to get too close to Donna Corinthos for fear of using her as a replacement child as she has done with other kids in the past.
Nikolas was at a loss as to what to say to Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) when she hinted towards moving back into Wyndemere. Between Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), and pregnant Rapunzel in the tower, it’s looking like a full house that he might not be able to navigate.
Things got even more complicated when Elizabeth showed up and let herself in with a key, confusing Ava. After Liz made an excuse saying that Aiden needed pics of Laura Collins (Genie Francis) for a school project, Ava left, and Elizabeth told all to Nikolas. Yes, Hamilton Finn thinks she is pregnant with Nik’s child since he saw the prenatal vitamins because he knew it couldn’t very well be his kid since Finn and Liz never slept together.
Liz also had to admit she wasn’t sure if Finn would keep her fake pregnancy a secret because that’s just the kind of guy Finn is. In fact, Finn was busting at the seams to tell Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) everything when they saw the drug addict nearly take a drink at Charlie’s. When Finn later ran into Ava, he came so close to blowing it, but miraculously managed to control himself.
Before Finn arrived at Charlie’s, Alexis spent time asking Gregory to stop mansplaining life to her. Like father, like son.
At GH, Austin was happy when Spinelli arrived with a sealed envelope revealing whether Austin and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) are a true match or not. When Spinelli felt guilty about running his algorithm behind Maxie’s back, he ran out of Austin’s office, and Austin chased him. They then got into a boy fight, and the envelope went flying, landing at Maxie’s feet.
When Maxie saw this was all about Society Setups, Austin just came clean and confessed that he blackmailed Spinelli into running his algorithm on them, and bystander Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) was shocked to learn that Zelda was just a cover and Spinelli was the brains behind the matchmaking service.
As for Maxie, she was furious at Austin for trying to hurt Spinelli and explained how she ignored all the red flags about Peter August (Wes Ramsey) but wasn’t about to ignore this red flag about Austin.
