The General Hospital recaps for February 21 – February 25, 2022, feature a much-anticipated death, what is most likely the final nail in the Carson coffin, and so much more.
Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) ends her charade and informs Peter August (Wes Ramsey) that she’ll be escaping the first chance she gets. When the said chance presents itself, Maxie is true to her word…Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) converge on Peter’s locale.
Laura Collins (Genie Francis) chastises Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) for her entitled attitude, questions her interest in Ryan Chamberlin (Jon Lindstrom), then gently advises her to look outside of Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) for love and support…Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) efforts to heal the rift between him and Spencer backfire spectacularly.
Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) admits to Trina Robinson (Syndey Mikayla) that she and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) made love. Trina relays that Spencer bought her a sentimental gift. When Esme arrives, Josslyn takes great pleasure in antagonizing her.
Olivia Falconeri Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) updates Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) on Leo’s Autism diagnosis and of Ned Quartermaine’s (Wally Kurth) intention to adopt the boy.
Maxie finds momentary salvation in Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner). After Peter rear-ends the car that the women are in, Maxie flees into the surrounding woodland; Peter gives chase. Before he can fire his gun in Maxie’s direction, Peter is struck from behind by a branch wielding (or was it a tire iron?) Felicia.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) initially rejects Carly Corinthos’s (Laura Wright) settlement requests – she wants to retain the marital home and physical custody of Donna – and suggests they remain married but forgo intimacy; he eventually acquiesces.
Trina blasts Josslyn for baiting Esme. Esme replaces the cover on her burner phone – the one containing the video of Josslyn and Cameron’s first night together – with one identical to Trina’s.
Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) snaps a picture of Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) conversing with a crony. Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) investigates the shady character, and Laura theorizes that Victor is responsible for both the theft of The Ice Princess and Luke Spencer’s (Tony Geary) death.
Anna, Drew, and Dante find Maxie, Felicia, and a battered, broken Peter. Drew and Dante usher Maxie and Felicia away from the scene; Anna remains behind with Peter. She reveals that she didn’t go through with her intention to call an ambulance. She sits by Peter’s side as he dies.
Sonny momentarily breaks from drowning his sorrows in order to encourage Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) to treat Sasha Gilmore (Helena Mattsson) to a romantic getaway. Brando floats the idea to Sasha who seems amenable; she later purchases cocaine. Meanwhile, Sonny leaves a pathetic, rambling voicemail for Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). She arrives to collect him.
News of Peter’s demise begins to disseminate…Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) share their first kiss.
Sonny tells Nina that his marriage to Carly is over. Nina expresses her concern over a medicated Sonny mixing his pills with alcohol. The duo falls into a passionate clinch…Ava takes great delight in Carly’s declaration that she and Sonny are divorcing. After needling her rival, Ava agrees that Carly should remain a figure in Avery’s life.
Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) asks Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) to keep an eye on Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), especially where Marshall (Robert Gossett) is concerned…Maxie collects her daughter and reveals that the wee one will continue to be known as Bailey. Furthermore, Maxie says that Louise going by Bailey isn’t the only name change she had in mind; she wants Brook Lynn to be called “Momma Brook Lynn.”
Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) confides her recent troubles to Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton)…Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) questions whether Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is interested in giving them another chance.
Harmony (Inga Cadranel) assures Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) that she’ll have her birth certificate forthwith, then pays a document forger…Carly and Drew go to Sonny’s penthouse to fill him in on Peter’s death and catch Nina Reeves about to make her exit.
