In this retro General Hospital recap, originally penned by Hope Campbell, it’s Thursday, June 28, 2018, and Dante Falconeri is about to bid his sweet Lulu Spencer Falconeri adieu. Anybody else miss Lulu? We miss Lulu.
Poor Lulu (Emme Rylan) was stunned when Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) called her home to tell her news she needed to sit down for. He found a lead on the arms dealer who nearly killed her two years ago and joined a WSB task force to find him.
Without even saying goodbye to the kids, Dante got in a car for what he was calling a temporary assignment. Lulu stood there crying, not knowing what hit her. And it was all downhill from there. Soon the Falconeris were divorced, and she started dating a sexy high school teacher played by a sexy feller from a defunct ABC soap; then Dante came back home and was all, I want my woman back but she’s found happiness elsewhere so I won’t fight for her…and Lulu gets put into a coma by her awful uncle Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). Dante felt all kinds of bad and Cyrus eventually found Jesus. Maybe.
Well, Dante won’t be around to bring down Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier), but Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) did make assurances that he’d not fall for Nelle again.
Chase was later shocked when Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Nelle arrived at the PCPD, looking to speed up a marriage license application. Don’t worry, Michael isn’t that stupid…no really, he isn’t. This is all a snow job so he can get the better of Nelle. Also, she dies in the end, so score for the Corinthos family.
Over at GH, Ava Jerome soon-to-be Cassadine (Maura West) tried to plot how to assassinate Dr. Bensch (James DePaiva), but Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) wasn’t going for it. He was VERY anti-kill at this point. You know, before he was in turn killed. Instead, they were both quite intrigued when Scott Why Does Nobody Call Him Scotty Anymore (?) Baldwin (Kin Shriner) told them Bensch asked him to represent him.
They convinced Scott to throw the case, and Bensch was a tad suspicious when Scott said he could defend him after all.
Drew Cain (Billy Miller) stopped by Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) house to make sure he really and truly is invited to her latest wedding. Well, he was and he’s quite surprised Franco likes him so much. We also miss Franco and the weird comradery that he and Drew subsequently developed.
At the boxing gym, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) talked Carly Corinthos, and Sam almost lost it when Jason said he’d flee the country with Carly if he has to. So much for returning to town to be with the now very available Sam. Poor Sam. She’d still yet to figure out the priority was always and would always be Carly. She got there in the end though.
At least Sam managed to talk him out of it, and then told him straight out that she will join him on his quest to figure out Nelle’s fiendish plot.
