The General Hospital recap features Ava Jerome coming up with a quick story to explain why nobody can seem to find Nikolas.
In this episode, Laura arrived at Wyndemere looking for her son, but Ava already had a cover story ready. On the mainland, Finn asked Alexis some hypothetical questions about committing crimes while Elizabeth ordered up her own lawyer in Scott. Also, Willow woke so she could meet and name her baby, Nina told Liesl she thought Carly and Drew were hiding something, and Austin had some news to deliver. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
Ava (Maura West) had quite a night at Wyndemere, but at least Austin (Roger Howarth) stayed over just to keep an eye on her. Ava had a nightmare and was surprised to see Austin come running because the events of the night before were still fuzzy, and she didn’t remember asking him to stay.
Austin reminded Ava she needed to come up with a good story for when people start asking where Nikolas (Adam Huss) is, so she decided she would say that she and Nikolas fought over Wyndemere, and he stormed off, and she hadn’t seen him since. She then asked Austin to forget what he saw the night before, but he informed her he is in it now and that he also needs to protect her from his cousin Mason (Nathanyael Grey).

After Austin left, Laura (Genie Francis) showed up like clockwork, asking for Nikolas, and Ava told her exactly what she told Austin. She even added that she didn’t think Nikolas would be seen in Port Charles anytime soon because he didn’t think there was anything left for him there. Laura bought it — for now.
Before Laura stopped by Wyndemere, she checked in on Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) to ask what she and Nikolas had been fighting about at the hospital the day before. Liz lied and told Laura that Nikolas was making all her problems about himself, and that’s why she was angry at him. Liz then called Scott (Kin Shriner) for legal advice, and he rushed right over.
Finn (Michael Easton) also sought out legal advice for Elizabeth by presenting an allegedly hypothetical situation to Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), who told him if his friend testified against the person who committed the original crime, she could get off easy. Finn later ran into Liesl (Kathleen Gati), and she was furious that Scott ran off to be with Liz, so she let Finn know it. Finn quickly knew that Elizabeth was still thinking about confessing what happened with Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl).
Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) finally woke up and immediately wanted to see her baby, whom she promptly named Amelia Grace. Grandparents Nina (Cynthia Watros), Carly (Laura Wright), and Sonny (Maurice Benard) were thrilled to see the baby — even in a photo — and learn her name. Michael and Willow were also anxious to hear what Austin had to say about the stem cells, but he seemed hesitant to tell them until Terry (Cassandra James) arrived.
Liesl also arrived to get a look at the baby. Once she and Nina were alone, they got to talking about both Willow and Carly. Nina really wanted to see Willow, but only if Willow wanted to see her. They also discussed Carly’s lies, and Nina mentioned seeing Carly and Drew (Cameron Mathison) in an embrace that they clearly wanted to keep a secret. Liesl and Nina wondered what they were trying to hide, and Liesl vowed to get to the bottom of things.
