After a bit of a lull on General Hospital (GH), things have really picked up story-wise in Port Charles.
The soap has some masterful plots brewing that are sure to engage fans over the next few months. Here are five of the best reasons to watch the soap, right now!
Ava’s Recovery
It may just be the best comeuppance in soap opera history. Murderous Ava (Maura West) was burned over 90 percent of her body, while being confronted over her part in Morgan’s (Bryan Craig) death.
The prospect of watching her suffer and slowly heal is mesmerizing. How will it change her? And how will GH’s makeup department rise to the challenge of her hideous burn scars?
The Julexis Quandary
While we don’t yet know William deVry’s off-screen status with the show, what’s happening on-screen keeps us coming back for more. Julian does seem to want to make amends for all he’s done and Alexis doesn’t know quite what to do.
The chemistry between them remains, and even fans are torn as to whether she should take him back, considering what he did to her last summer with that dagger (although he claims he was just going to put her on a boat to safety).
The Jason Dilemma
Steve Burton is Jason past. Billy Miller is Jason present. Will the two actually meet in the near future now that Burton is returning to GH? If Burton turns out to be the real Jason and Miller is just a Cassadine-created imposter, it has the potential to be the best storyline of the year.
It’s reminiscent of Marlena’s plight on Days of Our Lives, when Wayne Northrop returned as the real Roman, exposing Drake Hogestyn’s Roman as a fake.
Cray-Cray Sam
Watching Sam (Kelly Monaco) mentally unravel has been a totally unexpected twist. One minute, she’s perfectly sane. The next, she’s trembling and having hallucinations of Sonny threatening her happy family, before viciously attacking him.
Maurice Benard’s menacing stare and cold, creepy forewarnings in the fantasy sequences are downright scary.
Sweet Revenge
Nelle (Chloe Lanier) may have forsaken her plan to destroy Carly and her family after seeing the light and falling for Michael (Chad Duell), but now the tables have turned.
Carly and Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman) aren’t about to let the wench dig her hooks into their son and grandson. They know he deserves better. The scheming mother/daughter team are certain to give as good as they got from Nelle, and it’s going to be fun to watch.
