Key Takeaways

  • Chase warns Jacinda that Michael may seem too good to be true.

  • Detective Joe pressed Lucas about why he waited to come forward.
  • Valentin informed Carly that their situation is even worse than expected.

Coming up in Port Charles

While enjoying a swim near the Quartermaine boathouse, Chase (Josh Swickard) tells Jacinda (Paige Herschell), “If Michael seems too good to be true, it’s because he is.” He’s been taking shots at Michael (Rory Gibson) so consistently lately that you’d think he was getting paid by the insult. Unfortunately for Chase, he’s marching straight toward a trap believing he’s the smartest person in the room. Considering Michael’s manipulating Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), it feels less like a question of whether the trap gets sprung and more a question of how many people get caught in it when it does.

Lucy (Lynn Herring) says to Tracy (Jane Elliot) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), “Are we sure what we’re about to do is the best way to handle this?” It’s a fair question, considering the women are preparing to threaten Sidwell (Carlo Rota) with a federal investigation if he refuses to cut ties with Deception. Then again, threatening a man who collects enemies the way other people collect coffee mugs has never seemed like a particularly relaxing hobby.

At the PCPD, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) confesses to Lulu (Alexa Havins), “There are things about my involvement you don’t know.” It’s probably that she blabbed to Dante about recognizing the slide bite on Rocco’s (Finn Carr) hand, and daddy commissioner put the pieces together to realize his son was the shooter. Port Charles has a remarkable way of turning a seemingly harmless observation into a five-alarm disaster, and Elizabeth may have just realized she’s holding a match near a gasoline spill.

New Detective Joe (Jonathan Bennett) asks Lucas (Van Hansis), “Why are you just coming forward with this information now?” That’s a perfectly reasonable question considering Lucas is making a wildly ambitious play by pinning Marco’s (Adrian Anchondo) murder on Pascal (Marc Forget). The problem is that nobody knows enough about Detective Joe yet. For all we know, he’s a straight-arrow cop. Or he’s getting holiday cards from the villains. Around here, either option feels equally plausible.

General Hospital's Carly.

And a slightly alarmed Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) let’s Carly (Laura Wright) know, “We’re in even bigger trouble than I thought.” That’s saying something considering Valentin’s life has basically been one continuous emergency for the last several years. Carly is set to allow Nina (Cynthia Watros) to speak with him, and odds are she’ll pass along a message from Jack (Chris McKenna). If Valentin is already sounding nervous before the message arrives, that’s probably not the sort of update anybody wants to receive.
