General Hospital fans have been here before. Oh, no! Nikolas Cassadine is dead! Again! His estranged wife, Ava Jerome Cassadine, hit Nikolas over the head. And Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt took Ava’s word for it that he had shuffled off his mortal coil – rather than, you know, maybe checking for a pulse or something.

Ava (Maura West) knows how to kill, and 7% remind. Remember Connie? Sure, no one else does. Not even Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). And Connie was one of the many loves of his life. When Ava hits you over the head, your head stays hit. Bye-bye, Nikolas. You were wearing out your welcome, anyway.
Been There, Done That With Nikolas Cassadine
Maybe he’s dead this time, 42% of General Hospital fans shrug. But, you know, he’s been dead before. This could be a nice reset for the character. Nikolas had gone too far lately, with the kidnapping of Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), and sucking Elizabeth Webber Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) into his crimes. He should spend some time thinking about what he’s done. And if he has to be temporarily dead to make that happen? So be it.

GH: Hard Headed
Then again, a round half of you, 51%, believe Nik’s head can take any blow. He’s a Cassadine, after all. His dad survived being thrown down the stairs. His grandmother died – how many times? And it’s not just his Cassadine side. Mom Laura Collins (Genie Francis) came back from the dead. So did Grandma Lesley Webber (Denise Alexander). And his brother, Lucky Spencer. The point is, this is all very far from over. Nik is going to let Ava think she killed him. And then he’ll figure out how to make that work for him. Now we’re back to his Cassadine side again.
