Cyrus Renault debuted on General Hospital as an unapologetic bad guy. He wanted Sonny Corinthos’ empire. And he wanted revenge on Laura Webber Baldwin Spencer Collins. For being the daughter of the woman Cyrus’ father cheated on his mother with.
Because it was obviously all her fault. Since taking on Sonny is a fool’s errand, Cyrus ended up in prison. Where he seems to have turned over a new leaf. But is he really trying to change, or is it all an act?
We think he’s exploring his options, 56% of you venture. He’s done the bad guy thing. And that didn’t work out too well. Well, it was working out really well… until it wasn’t. So why not see how the other half lives? Unfortunately, prison is not the best place to strive for sainthood. Prison is the ultimate spot where nice guys finish last. Which is why you expect this to be only a short-term reformation. Leopards don’t change their spots. And bad guys like Cyrus (Jeff Kober) don’t tread the straight and narrow for long.
There are optimists among us, and 25% are convinced that this is a new and improved Cyrus. He’s seen the error of his ways and really wants to change his trajectory. Helping out Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) in prison was just the beginning. He’s going to use his very specific set of skills only for good moving forward.
Nah, 19% dismiss. Once you’ve done one bad thing, there is no turning back. Cyrus committed some crimes and he can never, ever be forgiven for them. He’s faking this new rebirth, probably for some even more evil plan. What kind of town would Port Charles be if villains were just forgiven and allowed to roam around freely?
