Carly Corinthos is really, really mad at Sonny Corinthos on General Hospital. Sonny got amnesia, forgot the great love he and Carly shared, and had the gall to fall for Nina Reeves. Carly can never, ever forgive Sonny for that. Should she, though?
Carly (Laura Wright) is absolutely correct, 57% of you insist. The idea that any man could forget the wonder that is her is, well, unfathomable. Head injury or no head injury, Carly should have been tattooed on Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) brain, on his heart, on his soul.
He should have known, even without remembering, that his ideal woman was out there, and that it was his obligation to do anything necessary to get back to her. Instead, he fell for Nina (Cynthia Watros)? A woman Carly hates? Now that’s two strikes! Knock him out, Carly!
Not so fast, Carly, 23% of the audience cautions. While Sonny was dead, Carly married her true love, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), and was going to consummate the deed…if Sonny hadn’t come waltzing in. Carly didn’t even have the excuse of amnesia to explain how she overcame her feelings for Sonny. So maybe she shouldn’t be quite so judgmental.
The way a final 20% of fans see it, Carly is basically violating the Americans With Disabilities Act. Sonny had an injury. He was mentally compromised. And now Carly is haranguing him over what he did when he wasn’t in his right mind. Sonny could sue her.
She could lose the hotel. (Hey, if Carly/Michael could sue Nina for identity theft because she didn’t tell Sonny who he really was, then we figure the law in Port Charles…bears no relationship to how laws work in the rest of America). The point is, she’s picking on a sick man.
