For the majority of his life, General Hospital’s Sonny Corinthos has had a single goal: Be the kindest, gentlest, sweetest, most lovable mobster ever…and live happily ever after with his soulmate, Carly Corinthos…when they both aren’t marrying and/or having children with other people.
General Hospital Polling
Could that beautiful dream have reached its tragic end? Is Sonny (Maurice Benard) finally prepared to develop a new dream? What 4,000 fans are expecting to see:
Giving Up
You know what a sensitive soul Sonny is. How low his self-esteem is. What bad luck he’s always had with women. Why else would he have needed to drug teenagers to sleep with him, if he realized what a great guy he was and how any woman would be lucky to have him so much as look her way? The only reason Sonny is giving up on Carly (Laura Wright) is that he just doesn’t feel worthy of her and is scared of rejection. Oh, our poor, innocent, Sonny, 85% of the audience weeps bitter tears.
The Other General Hospital Man
A much, much smaller 9%, on the other hand, are giving Sonny credit for being smarter than he looks — and acts. Sonny was done with Carly the minute he realized she’d always loved Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Before they were married, after they were married, and, most importantly…the entire time that they were married. Our dimpled don can do so much better!
Plenty of Fish in the Sea
Sonny was never meant to be a one-woman man, a final 6% of you dismiss. That is too much man to ever be satisfied with domestic life. If Carly doesn’t appreciate what she’s giving up, there’s always Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). And if not Nina, then Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West). If not Ava…what we’re saying is, “Carly who?”
