You remember The Hook from General Hospital? He/She/They terrorized the populace of Port Charles for an intense couple of weeks, killed Brando Corbin and put Diane Miller in the hospital.
Then He/She/They just…got bored? Took a vacation? Reformed? Or is the pause actually a clue as to who The Hook really is?
A winning 38% of voters are convinced that The Hook isn’t anyone we’ve previously considered. It’s either a complete stranger with a grudge and motive no one could have seen coming or someone who appears to have no connection with the victims whatsoever… but was available to wreak havoc. It’s…uh…Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson)! Or…uhm…Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). It’s…Morgan Corinthos back from the dead! Georgie Jones…back from the dead! Dillon Quartermaine…for no reason at all! Why not?
For 28% of the audience, however, the obvious suspect is Officer Rory Cabrera (Michael Kruse). He showed up right around the time of the killings. And he seems to have no other personality traits.
The killings took place while Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) was presumed dead. And then they stopped once Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) locked a pregnant Esme up. To 18% of you, that’s all the evidence of guilt anybody needs.
Who’s the local murdering psychopath, 11% point out. Why, it’s Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom). Ipso facto, he’s the guy who’s been running around planting hooks into people. Who cares if he’s locked up? He’s overcome death before. What’s a closed door to him?
What’s the point of reminding us that Heather Webber (Alley Mills) exists, 5% are wondering, if it wasn’t so the show could lay the groundwork for her being The Hook? Heather never needs a reason for doing what she does that makes sense to anyone but Heather. And we’re pretty sure she has one for this, too.
