Robert Scorpio has been pretty much a lone wolf since the death of his ex-wife, Holly Sutton, almost three years ago on General Hospital. Then, mere moments before the audience already knows Holly is on her way back to Port Charles, Robert is suddenly romantically interested in Diane Miller. That seems awfully convenient. But is it even a possibility?

The vote couldn’t have been closer, as exactly 50% of the audience voted to say that, yeah, sure, Robert (Tristan Rogers) could fall for Diane (Carolyn Hennesy). Why not? Except that the love of his life would always be Holly (Emma Samms).
And for those who don’t believe Holly fills that role, then Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is next in line. He and Diane could have some fun together. But it will always be an also-ran choice.

They have a lot in common, 36% venture. They’re both in the legal profession. They’re both snarky. They both…have a pulse. All those things absolutely make for a good romantic match. Sure.

Different General Hospital Worlds
Are you kidding, 14% of you are doing a double take? Yeah, they’re both lawyers, but Robert puts the bad guys in jail….and Diane is the one who fights to keep them out. We get that it’s confusing. After all, Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) once risked his life to take down the mob, and, less than 20 years later, was buddy-buddy with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and whining about how being a law-abiding husband and father was so totally not his jam.
But Robert hasn’t gone down that path yet. He still believes in truth, justice, and the Australian way. Diane may be cool and fun, and sexy. But what happens the first time Robert knows he’s caught a dangerous criminal…and Diane makes him look like a cuddly puppy who should be let out on the street to bite again.
