Dead is never really dead on General Hospital. Sure, Nelle (Chloe Lanier) may have gone over a cliff, leaving Carly (Laura Wright) to feel almost guilty about it.
But fans know she hasn’t really shuffled off her mortal coil. Does that mean it’s time for her to head back to Port Charles? What almost 3,000 viewers had to say about that:
A majority 76% of you are pretty adamant that the answer to that question is “Never!” Nelle serves no purpose on the canvas now. Wiley is happy with Michael (Chad Duell) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), Chase (Josh Swickard) would happily never think about her again, and Nina (Cynthia Watros)… well, who cares about Nina when we’re talking about Carly’s happiness! She’s just lost Sonny (Maurice Benard). You can’t go and make her even sadder. That would be as cruel as keeping a mother from knowing about her child.
A much smaller 15% of the audience is thrilled by the idea. Nelle needs to come back and get her son back from his sanctimonious father and fake mother, remind Chase that bad girls do finish first and reunite with Nina, so the two can plan for how they’re going to make Carly pay for her actions. Port Charles is deadly dull without its favorite young troublemaker, and the sooner she comes home, the better.
Only 9% of the fans want Nelle back… but not quite yet. You want the drama to really simmer. You want Nina to go after Wiley and make Carly and Michael miserable before Nelle rides in to wield the death blow.
You want those who would otherwise remain on guard to relax their vigilance and assume the worst is over. And then you want Nelle to pop back up and show them how wrong they are. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
