The outpouring of support for All My Children star Cameron Mathison the last few days after his recent health announcement has been overwhelming. Now, another daytime star is voicing encouragement for Mathison on the eve of his upcoming surgery.
Eddie Alderson (ex-Matthew, One Life to Live), who recently shared positive news of his own health, took to social media to send a special message to Mathison, who, this week, announced he was facing a medical crisis. The actor shared that doctors had located a tumor on his kidney that is “consistent with Renal Cell Carcinoma … or kidney cancer.”
“Hey @CameronMathison, this is just another chapter in your life and it will not define you,” Alderson tweeted. “It will change you, but only for the better. Tackle this with the same energy we all know and love about you, and this thing will be beaten. #NoSurrender.”
You can see Alderson’s full tweet below. Mathison, as previously reported is set to undergo surgery related to his kidney cancer diagnosis, on Thursday, September 12 at 1 p.m. PT.
Soap Hub joins Alderson and Mathison’s family, friends, colleagues, and fans in sending the actor positive thoughts and well wishes for a successful surgery. Home & Family, which Mathison currently hosts, airs weekdays on the Hallmark Channel. Check local listings for air times.
