Bundles of Joy? Does General Hospital (GH) Have Way Too Many Baby Stories?

It’s raining babies on General Hospital (GH)!

Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Ava (Maura West) are constantly squabbling over Avery even as Michael (Chad Duell) deals with his crazy baby-mama.

Meanwhile, Maxie (Kirsten Storms) is pregnant, Nina (Michelle Stafford) has baby rabies, Lucas (Ryan Carnes) and Brad (Parry Shen) are looking to adopt (albeit primarily off-screen), and even Anna (Finola Hughes) is forced to talk endlessly about the baby she gave up for adoption decades ago.

It’s all baby, all the time!

But is it too much? Over 6000 viewers babbled about it:

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice
There can never be too many babies, 56% of you assert. Babies are cute, and watching adults interact with them is even cuter. Who didn’t melt when Jason (Steve Burton) had his thug-to-tot chat with little Scout about how, under different circumstances, she might have been his daughter?

Plus, more than one baby on the canvas opens the door to wacky hijinks. For instance, might Maxie and Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) babies end up switched?

And could one of them inadvertently end up with Brad and Lucas? That’s a story that might affect multiple families. And it couldn’t happen without babies! Many, many babies!

Infanticide
Get them off my screen, 43% shout! Soaps are supposed to be about adults and their adult problems.

Shocking as this may be – especially to Nina and Lulu (Emme Rylan) – real grown-ups have more on their minds that simply reproducing. They have romantic, professional, and familial concerns. How about more of that and less with the babies?

Other People’s Children
And there there are the 1% who want Nina to be pregnant and happy, but are very, very much against any potential baby swaps. They think there are just enough babies in Port Charles as it is, but any more would be overkill.
