General Hospital star Lydia Look, who portrays Selina Wu, shares who she admires and more with Soap Hub as we celebrate amazing, powerful women on our favorite soaps. In this feature, we learn more about them — who inspires them, and so much more. Plus, check out a photo gallery.
Look is a powerhouse both on and off-screen. The multi-talented actress can do it all. She is fluent in five languages, writes, produces, does her own stunt work, and is a voiceover artist as well. She has been interested in the arts since the tender age of 6 when the famed Speech and Drama Irish nuns, Sister Dolores and Sister Josephine Healy, plucked her from obscurity based on her report card that listed her as “gifted, dynamic, and talented.” The nuns coached her in classic Shakespeare, helping her to earn a degree in Speech & Drama from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
She went on to further her education at the USC School of Film & Television and the USC School of Theater. The dynamo actress earned early acclaim in the Berkeley Repertory Theater and The Huntington Theater. Before her graduation, she had already optioned out her first feature film script and was commissioned to write a freelance episode of The Sentinel. It wasn’t long before she peppered her resume with television and film credits.
