Twins Grace Scarola and Ava Scarola have been acting opposite Maurice Benard on General Hospital their entire lives, having played the part of Avery Corinthos since they were infants. That means they have a special bond with their onscreen dad that shines through in every scene. It also shines through behind the scenes.
Maurice Benard Gets A Special Gift
Benard recently shared an adorable video on Instagram in which Grace Scarola presents him with a drawing she made for him along the lines of the one little Jophielle Love (Violet Finn) gave him when she appeared on his YouTube mental health program Maurice Benard: State of Mind.
Alongside the video, Benard wrote, “I’ll say it again there’s nothing like children and animals💝 And the @scarolatwins are truly like my own kids. Thank you Grace.”
As many fans know, Benard has a menagerie of animals at his home that he often posts photos and videos of. Buddy the Goat is especially famous. He also raised four kids of his own, Cailey, Cassidy, Heather, and Joshua.
In the video with his pint-sized co-star, the actor tells his fans that he was on set when Grace approached him with a beautiful drawing of herself and Benard. He then had her adorably describe her artwork. “I just used my heart,” she said. “That’s why there’s hearts right there, and also because I love you.”
A clearly touched Benard told Grace that he loves her too and that this was “the sweetest thing I ever heard.” Watch the video below for some of that cuteness overload.
