Vanessa Marcil Teases Backstage Brenda Secrets Revealed…And A GH Comeback

It’s been more than a decade since Vanessa Marcil last brought General Hospital‘s Brenda Barrett to life, but that doesn’t mean that the iconic character is not on the actress’s mind — something she proved with her most recent social media post.

Marcil Dives Into Brenda’s Secrets

Sonny (Maurice Benard, who hosts the video podcast State of Mind) and Brenda are perhaps one of GH’s most legendary couples, who shared a legendary location shoot in Puerto Rico back in 1994. Marcil shared one of the most famous shots from that shoot 30 years ago on Instagram with the following caption.

“Writing behind the scenes Brenda experiences. Stuff that I’ve never discussed before,” Marcil wrote. “Just a reminder of how much I love [Maurice Benard] and what truly happened personally for me while working with him…..”

That post got fans speculating that Marcil might be writing an autobiography, revealing behind-the-scenes secrets from her time on GH that we’ve never heard before. However, her replies to comments caused even more buzz and speculation from hopeful fans.

When one fan said she wished Marcil would return to GH, she replied “Done and done.” To another fan requesting a Brenda comeback, Marcil wrote, “OK.”

She even surmised that Sonny would choose Brenda again when one commenter pointed out that the mobster is single again. “He’s always single if Brenda’s in town,” Marcil joked.

As fans know, Sonny is now estranged from his current wife Nina (Cynthia Watros) after he learned she turned ex-wife Carly (Laura Wright) into the SEC for committing insider trading. Plus, Sonny can never seem to resist Brenda whenever she is around. Some may say she is the true love of his life.

It must be noted that Marcil will tease a GH return from time to time that never comes to fruition, but one day that tease may be the real deal. Maybe that time is now.
