Scotty Baldwin hasn’t stirred things up with a cockamamie scheme on General Hospital in quite some time. His exit was never made official, and even Kin Shriner often wonders when the heck his character will return to Port Charles. He’s remained in good spirits, putting smiles on his fans’ faces on social media. Recently, his tone turned a little more personal as he let fans in on a tough reality — and the company that helped brighten it.

A Candid Post

On X, formerly Twitter, Shriner shared, “8 weeks of a second surgery alone very rough, I don’t recommend it, but I had visitors!!!!!” He attached photos of himself with Maurice Benard, Marcus Coloma, another supportive pal, and a glimpse of the crutches he’s been leaning on. It was both raw and reassuring — the honesty of his struggle paired with the comfort of some very familiar GH faces.

Fans wasted no time in flooding Shriner’s feed with support. “Oh No. I am so sorry that you are alone,” one viewer wrote, while another added, “Hope things are better for you soon.” A follower kept it simple with, “Wishing you a speedy recovery.”

Fans Show Their Love

The encouragement kept coming, prayers and emojis included. “Get well soon. 🙏❤️” posted one fan, and many echoed that same sentiment. Someone else reflected on his decades in daytime, writing, “Oh no 2nd surgery 😢😢😢🙏🙏🙏🙏prayers for healing. God bless…fan of yours since the 70s.”

There were even comments connecting his absence to current storylines. One follower pointed out, “This is why [your] character wasn’t in Leslie‘s funeral…they never really talk about the fact that you are Jason’s stepfather.” And then, in a lighter moment, another chimed in with, “I’ll help if you want 😉.”

Eight weeks of recovery is no easy feat, but if Shriner ever wondered whether fans still have his back, the response made it clear: they’re right there with him — crutches, visitors, and all. (Find out how GH alum John Stamos came to Shriner’s rescue.)
