It seemed as if we blinked and missed Jonathan Jackson’s return to General Hospital as Lucky Spencer. He came back to Port Charles to help his sister, Lulu, and ended up getting embroiled in Kristina’s near-fatal brake-cutting scheme. Ultimately, when Liz turned down his marriage proposal, Lucky packed up and decided to travel the world again, this time with his son, Aiden. In real life, Jackson’s also been embarking on life-altering adventures and recently discussed one that’s affected him deeply.
He’s Traveled Extensively
Jackson recently hit the stage with former co-star, Clare Bowen, from the hit series Nashville, performing and talking to fans. Digital Journal reported on the event and what the GH star discussed. When asked about his 2025 Daytime Emmy nomination, Jackson explained that the process had changed from submitting only two episodes to compiling a 15-minute video with several clips from his performances. He stated, “A part of my submission had my scenes with Genie at the church.”
He also explained that his life had been changed for the better as he delved into his Greek Orthodox faith. That fueled an interest in the actor in exploring the country of Greece. “We started traveling to Greece in 2015, and I’ve been there about nine or ten times now,” he remarked.

Good Thoughts for the World
He further explained that his travels have brought him to “some of the most ancient monasteries in the world,” and added that, “some of them have been there for over 1,000 years.” He remarked that in many of them, the stone floors in the entranceways have been worn down due to the large number of visitors over the millennia.
Jackson also stated that the monks in the monasteries continuously pray anywhere from eight hours to 14 hours daily, adding, “They pray for us and the world.” He felt that the fact that a small group of people were praying for the world was “humbling,” and joyfully remarked, “Our faith means everything to us; that’s where it all comes from.”
