If you blinked, you might have missed Scott Reeves’ return to General Hospital as Steven Webber. Curtis Ashford called him to Port Charles to handle his mother, reformed serial killer Heather Webber. Originally, it didn’t seem like Heather wanted to leave town. After a short amount of convincing, Steve got her to agree to go with him to Sedona, Arizona. Reeves took some time to discuss his brief reprisal.
Steve Might Be a Doctor Again
When we last saw Steve (Scott Reeves) on GH in 2013, he copped to swiping the heart of a comatose prisoner because a colleague needed one for her patient. He got arrested and was sent up the river until his recent release. Although he just left Port Charles with Heather (Alley Mills), Curtis (Donnell Turner) had mentioned that he could restore Steve’s medical license. We don’t know if that was part of the deal. Either way, Steve claims to have a job to return to in Sedona.
Reeves spoke with Soap Opera Digest about his exit and touched on Curtis’ offer. “There are these under-the-table deals that were being made, and I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, I just got out of prison, and now they’re trying to pull me back into these nefarious activities! They’re giving me bribes to take my wacky mother out of town!’ But it was left very open-ended.”
Watch Out World, Heather’s Loose
Reeves explained that Steve was apprehensive about returning to Port Charles. “I feel like Steve was looking over his shoulder the entire time.” He even talked about how Steve seemed to be staying on the periphery of whatever room he was in. At one point, he even partially used Heather as a shield to take the focus off of his return. Although his return was short-lived, Reeves is very open to returning in the future and exploring story possibilities.
“There’s so many different ways the story could go,” he explained, adding, “There’s Olivia (Lisa LoCicero, Steve’s former lover), there’s his sister, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Steve’s mother is on the loose again…”
At the end of the October 28 episode, as Heather was saying goodbye to baby Ace (the Clay Brothers), she whispered, “I’ll be back…” Suddenly, she had a sly grin on her face. Reeves jokingly mused that the two could end up being like Bonnie and Clyde, wreaking havoc everywhere. (Refresh yourself on Heather’s sordid history.)
