The abrupt exit of Michael Easton in June 2024 saddened General Hospital fans. Although he’d played several soap characters including John McBain — who had crossed over from One Life to Live — Dr. Silas Clay, as well as the Port Charles characters, Michael Morley and the vampire lord Caleb Morley, his portrayal of Dr. Hamilton Finn had touched the fans deeply. Although initially gruff, Finn softened after his daughter Violet’s introduction; however, they no longer reside in Port Charles. But, fans should not worry because Easton recently teased some exciting news about what he’s doing next.
A New Beginning
Easton took to Instagram to write, “Happy New Year. Wishing you health and happiness in 2025. Apologies for being off the grid for the past few months but I’ve been working on something I hope to share with you all in the near future.” He then described the attached photos: “In the meantime, I did come out of my cave and down from the mountain long enough to shoot headshots (my first in five years) with @jacksondavisphoto who’s a true artist behind the camera and made me look good. Sending blessings to you all. #happynewyear #newbeginnings #blessed.”
Rebecca Budig, who played Finn’s former love interest Hayden (and now plays Taylor on The Bold and the Beautiful) commented, “Perfect. As usual. Happy New Year, Michael.” Another past castmate and romantic partner, Finola Hughes (Anna Devane), wrote, “Looking good Michael! Happy New Year 💫.” Many of his followers wanted to know what he was alluding to.
What Could His Newest Project Be?
Fans of Easton know that he’s written several graphic novels, including the Soul Stealer series, about a 3,000-year-old man who battles the forces of darkness while on a quest to find his wife, and Credence, which is centered around a detective who confronts an unimaginable evil. It’s possible either of those properties has been optioned for a film or TV series with Easton playing the lead.
There’s also been speculation that he might return to Days of Our Lives as Tanner Scofield. Or, he could be tapped as the lead in an adaptation of Hollywood Hustle, written by his former GH co-star Jon Lindstrom (Kevin). Considering he shared new headshots, the odds are that his secret project will be a film or TV show, and we can’t wait to see what it is!
