General Hospital star Maurice Benard supervised a holiday cooking project in the kitchen, preparing for the Fourth of July as well as an important birthday. Admitting that his character Sonny is better at cooking than he is, he still managed to make the fans happy with a peek into his private life, and build anticipation for the holiday and more.
He Geared Up For Some Holiday Fun
On July 3, Maurice Benard wrote on Instagram that he and his family were going to the beach on the 4th of July, noting that it will be “Baby Milo‘s first birthday. Can’t Wait 🎁.” Accompanying that caption was a video with Fortunate Son by Creedence Clearwater Revival playing in the background. In it, a young person in his household was preparing food for the festivities. He described what was going on: “So I’m here in the kitchen making skewers out of fruit that looks like the flag…the American flag.” Clearly supervising, and not participating, Benard continued, remarking, “Let’s see how well we’ve done. We’re just about there, right?” (Take a peek at how soap stars celebrated the 4th in the past.)
The skewers were set on a plate, with fruit strategically placed so that when laid out, they resembled the red, white, and blue stars and stripes on the flag. “I’m not as good a cook as Sonny on General Hospital, but we’re doing pretty good here. Raspberries, marshmallow, blueberries…” he proudly stated, and we could see the yummy blueberries depicting the upper left quadrant of the flag while the raspberries and marshmallows were laid out on the sticks in rows, resembling the red and white stripes of the flag.
We Wish Milo a Happy Birthday!!
Everyone wished him and his family a happy 4th, along with many birthday well-wishes for Milo, as one fan responded, “Happy 4th July to you and family! Love you Happy Birthday to Milo! Today is my Daughter’s Birthday!! God Bless ❤️❤️🇺🇸,” to which Benard replied, “😍😍😍.” He answered most of the messages with fun emojis. One follower lovingly wrote, “Happy birthday to Milo! Your very own Yankee doodle Dandy! Have fun! 😍.”
And one follower spoke for all by jamming in as many family members and emojis they could with the response, “Happy birthday to Milo. Happy 4[th] of July with All your Family and Friends. Hi to all the Pets & Buddy the goat! 🐐 🎼🍰🎉🏖️🇺🇸❤️🤍💙.” We’re looking forward to fun pics of his family at the beach, as well as Milo’s milestone birthday bash!
