Marcus Coloma has been getting his body back in shape after years of running on fumes he thought were normal. Since stepping away from General Hospital in 2023, he’s talked openly about heart surgery, long-term fatigue, and the strange clarity that comes when your system finally stops fighting you. He’s also been making things again, videos and music, and sharing them on social media just when it felt right. His latest post was very casual and earnest, embodying his best talents.

Key Takeaways

  • Since leaving GH, Marcus Coloma has focused on his music and creative projects.
  • His single “Dropped” debuted with an intentionally playful Instagram dance video.
  • Coloma shared that the song’s roots go back to his mid-20s.
  • Fans praised the track and the dance, and called for a GH return.

Marcus Coloma Drops the Song, the Dance, and the Socks

Coloma wrote on Instagram, “As promised…’Dropped’ the interpretive dance. If you get a chance, please listen to this as much as you possibly can, and even if you’re not able to listen to it, just have it playing on repeat on Spotify, or Amazon music, Apple Music, or wherever you listen to music: it should be there.”

He further instructed his fans: “Also share it, why not share it to as many people as you can share it to your Instagram story, share it to your girlfriend, your boyfriend, your friend, your family 😂❤️😍.” The caption came with a video of Coloma dancing to his own song. He was fully committed with sunglasses on, jeans cuffed, and polka-dot socks stealing more focus than they had any right to.

Not long after, he followed up with clever photos and a longer explanation, sharing, “When I was 26 years old, I wrote this song about an imaginary girl and love story. I was also on a show called South Beach, my character didn’t have a lot of money, and my love interest was going for a guy who did. 2026 seems like the right time to tell the tale.”

From Polaroids to Bathtubs

The pics on that post were done in the style of a billboard and a Polaroid image, advertising his release. Coloma’s third post simply had heart emojis with another video, including handwritten text and images of him in a bathtub, more reflective than explanatory. In it, he reiterated his request that fans listen to his song often.

The fans didn’t hesitate, as one commented, “Dropped it on my playlist on Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music! ✅🔥.” Another jumped straight to nostalgia: “You were my favorite Nikolas!” Someone else summed it up neatly: “The song!! The socks!! Love it all!!” Even Coloma’s daughter, Coco, commented, “Can I share it [with] my dad?” to which the former GH star joined the gag, responding, “@coco_coloma absolutely! He would love it!”

Plenty zeroed in on the dancing. “Truly interpretive!! And excellent! 😂” showed up early. So did, “New song: 🔥 Dance: 💯 Polka-dot socks: iconic.” A few asked him to come back to GH. A few just pressed play and stayed there.
