The lives of many people, including Dante and Lulu, have been upended on General Hospital. After awakening from her years-long coma, Lulu didn’t waste any time meddling in Dante’s affairs. She worked toward revealing that he and Brook Lynn had a child when they were teenagers. Alexa Havins took over the part of Lulu in November 2024, and Dante’s portrayer, Dominic Zamprogna, had some things to say about working with his new scene partner.

Poor Dante is still reeling from the death of Sam. With her demise came Lulu’s emergence from her coma, and he’s dealt with both happy and sad feelings as a result. Dante and Lulu recently admitted that they still had feelings for one another, but chose not to act on them because the timing wasn’t right. But now that he knows Lulu was knee-deep in uncovering his heretofore unknown child with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), he’s been quite angry.

While Zamprogna had some good chemistry with Lulu’s prior two performers, Julie Marie Berman and Emme Rylan, he and Havins are also building up a new dynamic. He told Soap Opera Digest that he enjoys working with Havins, “A phenomenal actor and so great to work with.”

Love, Loss, and Lulu

Zamprogna praised Havins’ impassioned acting, which he felt was full of subtlety and honesty. These are characteristics that help fuel his own acting. Seeing these two together, it looks like no time has passed since the explosion at the Floating Rib put Lulu out of commission in November 2020. “I felt, pretty much from day one, that there’s just a natural chemistry between us,” he remarked.

The actor further explained that their connection came so naturally that they “almost have to really try not to play into it.” Zamprogna touched upon the fact that Lulu and Dante still love each other, but it’s been complicated by Sam’s death and the whole Gio mess. Fortunately, their chemistry is evident, and watching the characters move forward will be extremely interesting as fans hold out hope that they’ll eventually reunite.
