Fan favorite Emma Samms last reprised her General Hospital role as Holly Sutton in April 2023. Her stint was all too brief for fans, as she realized her and former love Robert’s lives were vastly different, and there wouldn’t be a chance for a reunion. She left Port Charles to help her son Ethan yet again but is returning once more to help the Spencer family.

A Samms and Jackson Teamup

On the heels of the return of Jonathan Jackson as Lucky, comes Samms, who will be part of his current storyline, according to Variety. Holly is no stranger to danger, and Lucky is in a very precarious situation, having inserted himself into a group of bad guys in an attempt to rescue a doctor named Isaiah, played by newcomer Sawandi Wilson.

When Holly last left, it was to continue helping Ethan get out of debt with nefarious characters, and hopefully, as Lucky’s mother, Laura (Genie Francis), races against time to find him and bring him back to save his sister, Holly will be instrumental in getting him out of trouble.

Samms told Variety that, “It’s such a gift that Frank [Valentini, executive producer] has given me, working with Jonathan, who is, obviously, a very, very good actor.” Surprisingly, Samms and Jackson have never worked together on the show before, and it’s high time we got a proper team-up.

They Learned From The Best

Samms continued, explaining that Jackson’s talent is “Undisputed — but he’s also really nice. And we have a very similar way of approaching the work, and we realized that that is because we were both trained by Tony Geary [Luke].”

Luke, of course, saved the world a few times over and was one of Port Charles’ greatest heroes. Sadly, Lucky’s father was killed off in 2022 — which happened off-screen in a cable car accident, no less — and never got a proper sendoff.

But Holly has traversed the gray area between good and bad guys, often motivated by her own self-interest. When the chips are down, she’ll help those in need, and the Spencer family could really use the assistance right now.

We’re looking forward to seeing what action Samms brings with her, and we know it will be extremely fun!
