Here’s How General Hospital Fans Feel About Violet Finn Leaving

When Finn left General Hospital for rehab, fans wondered what would happen to his daughter Violet. Chase and Brook Lynn brought Violet into the Quartermaine fold while Finn was away. Now, it’s been revealed that he moved to Seattle off-screen after getting out of rehab. On top of that, Violet’s going to live with him. Fans had a strong reaction to this unexpected series of events.

Beyond Unhappy

GH fans were bummed out because Michael Easton’s (Finn) exit also caused Jophielle Love (Violet) to leave the show. They wondered if Easton was just taking a break or if Finn would be recast. No one expected things to play out the way they did. When a GH Spoiler page posted the news of Love’s exit on Facebook, one fan lovingly wrote, “Sad to see Violet leave, such a smart and good actor. Wish you well and a return one day💖.” Many viewers wished the writers could fix what they believed was an egregious mistake.

Over on X, formerly Twitter, a fan responded to the news with: “Such a shame to lose another wonderful character! Should have never let Finn leave!!” Another viewer wrote on X, “Aww Violet is leaving, I’m glad they didn’t kill Finn off, but I’m going to miss Violet…wait until she comes back in 3 years SORAS’d 😂😂😂.” One fan felt more could have been done with Finn and Violet, writing, “I’m extremely sorry to see Violet leave Port Charles.  I think her story (alcoholic Father) was a very important one to tell, and a huge missed opportunity, from the ✍️ team at #GH. “She is such a beautiful, and talented little girl, and young actor.”

Love Was Beloved

The love for Love continued on X with a viewer posting, “They really just pulled the rug out from under us with this one didn’t they? We’re all just over here mourning the incoming loss of Sam and they just swiped Violet from us too!! I am not okay! She better come visit her Uncle Chase A LOT!!” The fan referred to the unceremonious discharge of Kelly Monaco from GH, who played the beloved character, Sam.

One of the show’s fans noted that another character on the show has been impacted by Love’s exit, sharing, “Violet is so excited to be moving to Seattle to be with her dad, that she hasn’t realized she’s leaving behind the rest of her family. Brook Lynn [Amanda Setton] is crushed that Violet is leaving.”

And another viewer didn’t see the point in Violet being left behind by Finn for a short time with the reaction, “Assuming off-screen Finn sends for Violet and she leaves with him, what was the point of having her on-screen without him for a mere four additional months, contributing nothing to the plot? Instead of writing them out together to begin with? I’m dumbfounded.”
