For anyone who follows the career of Maurice Benard on General Hospital, there is no question that he loves and is so incredibly proud of his talented son, Joshua, who currently plays Adam on the soap. Today, as a father, he had some special words for him.
The State Of Mind host took to his official Instagram account to post a lovely picture of him and his son from the elder Benard’s tour this past summer, in which the younger actor and musician joined him on various stops. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSHUA,” he began the post.
“You know [you’re] a lucky father when you have a son who is talented, smart, doesn’t drink, do drugs, social media, just wants to improve his life and who he is!!!” For anyone who watches the video podcast series, those words hold a great deal of truth. The Daytime Emmy winner understands how hard it is today raising a teenager with so many pressures put upon them by social media, peer pressure, etc. So it’s understandable why he would be so proud of his talented son, who was born 19 years ago today.
Joshua is currently involved in a very hot story in Port Charles, as Adam interacts mostly with the college scene. He has Josslyn (Eden McCoy) very worried since she knows his parents have put a ton of pressure on Adam to get perfect grades on his path to becoming a doctor. He takes pills and recently had a panic attack that had Joss take him to General Hospital to get checked out. In real life, his father couldn’t be more proud.
“His work ethic is second to none, which makes me really happy,” he concluded the post. “Have a great birthday Joshua never forget your dad loves you ❤️🩹”
