GH’s Maurice Benard & Fitness Guru Clark Bartram Discuss Why Sex Matters

General Hospital’s Maurice Benard welcomed back personal trainer, fitness expert, and best-selling author Clark Bartram to the latest episode of his video podcast, State Of Mind.

Maurice Benard Talks With Clark Bartram

Bartram’s last visit to the show covered a lot of ground, including his own struggle with anxiety. This time, consider it Part Two, the two guys tackled viewer questions, and one just happened to be about a hot topic: Sex!

“It is ego driven in many ways,” Bartram said before he shared a recent quote on the subject. “I heard something the other day. There was a guy on TikTok, he was like a monk or something like that, and he said, ‘Why is it that when two people are in the same room, and they are screaming at each other? The reason is that their hearts have grown far apart.’ And then he said, ‘The reason two people can be in the same room and not have to say a word is because their hearts have grown close.’”

The fitness pioneer described his own interpretation of what that means.  “When you think about having sex with someone, your hearts are right next to each other.” He then added, “So if you are having sex with your wife, but you are not connected, then there is no meaning to it. It really doesn’t give the fulfillment it should. Yeah, you are having an orgasm, and that is great for a minute, but the connection is not there, so it loses its meaning.”

The positive energy between two people is key. “Connection is important. If there is a connection there, then the sex is more meaningful than just going out and busting a nut.” Another benefit is the after-effects of releasing the endorphins. “You would certainly be handling stress levels better.”

He described the process. “When you have an orgasm, you are releasing a lot of built-up energy, and it feels so good,” Bartram explained. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing, he added, “I would say as often as possible, but I would say there is a time when you could be having too much sex. There are sex addicts. It is dependent upon your partner and how willing they are.”

Clark Bartram Turns The Tables

Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) spoke of his most recent travel experience that triggered anxiety, and the social media influencer shared his own breakthroughs in that area. Viewers can learn what he had to say about diet, sleep, resistance training, osteoporosis, essential oils, and the five ways to tell if you are filthy rich. Catch the full episode here.

State Of Mind fans can watch Bartram turn the tables at the end of the episode and ask the host important questions like what would he do if he wasn’t acting, what would his father have to say to him from beyond, and who would be the ultimate interview?

Benard teased that the author and fitness specialist would return, and the guest issued a challenge to the audience to address in his next appearance: make changes to your routine and talk about how it affected your life in the State Of Mind comment section of this episode.
