The year 2023 has proven to be a most trying one for General Hospital star Eden McCoy, full of huge highs and heart-aching lows. Now, a few days removed from winning a gold statuette at the Daytime Emmy Awards, the actress is briefing her fans before bidding them a brief adieu.
“Wanted to hop on & wish everyone happy holidays,” began McCoy’s post on X. “I think I’m gonna take some time off of Twitter, but first needed to give thanks for any of the support within the last few weeks. Been a strange year, but I still feel very lucky. Wishing everyone reading this love and health.”
McCoy’s self-imposed sabbatical comes one month after she revealed that her mother, Natasha, had died after a prolonged battle with cancer. In a heartfelt tribute, the actress who plays Josslyn Jacks said in part, “She was, is, and will be the best thing I have ever known. She is responsible for every good part of me, and she took me with her when she left.” (See her whole tribute here).
As viewers of General Hospital know, the role of Josslyn is currently being played by Courtney Fulk. According to sources, McCoy will be back taping after the holiday season and will reappear onscreen in early February.
