Eden McCoy reunited with her daytime pals at the Daytime Emmys on Friday when she took home her first Daytime Emmy. However, she has taken a brief leave from playing Josslyn on General Hospital. Stepping in to play the part is actress Courtney Fulk.

Courtney Fulk Plays Josslyn Jax

As GH viewers will see, or have seen today, Fulk assumed the role of Josslyn Jax. Her first scenes were with Tabyana Ali’s Trina and Nicholas Alexander Chavez’s Spencer. There’s no word yet on the reason for the temporary switch or how long Fulk’s run will be, but it’s likely that McCoy has taken a brief break from the role as she’s been dealing with the loss of her mother. The actress shared on social media last month that her mother, Natasha, passed away unexpectedly.

“Losing my mother has always been my greatest fear, as I’m sure many of you feel the same, and we have this habit as people of thinking that it will never happen to us,” McCoy posted on November 6. “Unfortunately, it can, and sometimes it does. I would do anything and give everything for one more minute with her. But not only was I lucky enough to know my mother, we could not have been closer.

“Mom, I expected a lot more time with you than was given, but that doesn’t make the time we shared together not enough,” McCoy continued. “I’m sad that I cannot come with you, but I have to believe that wherever you’re going will be a magical experience. My one wish is that we will meet again. You carried me with you for 9 months, and now I will carry you forever. I see you everywhere.”

Fulk’s acting credits include the roles of Anna in Healthy Bean Coffee Intentional and Regan in Student Seduction. While this appears to be Fulk’s first daytime credit, she played the role of Riley in the Lifetime thriller Killer Cheer Mom, which starred Denise Richards (ex-Shauna, The Bold and the Beautiful) and Thomas Calabro (ex-Michael Mancini, Melrose Place).

Soap Hub hears that McCoy is set to resume taping back at GH shortly and should be back onscreen in February.
