Peter August may be six feet under (does anyone really stay dead in Port Charles??), but actor Wes Ramsey certainly has a reason to celebrate.
That’s because he was born on October 6, 1977, in Louisville, Kentucky, which means that this talented performer is turning 46 years old today! Ramsey became enamored with the performing arts world around the age of 12, and he enrolled in a special three-week training program at the Walden Theater, where he would remain for the next seven years.
After achieving his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the Julliard School in New York City, New York, Ramsey immediately hit the auditions circuit and quickly found employment on the CBS daytime drama serial Guiding Light.
There, he played the character of Sam Spencer, the younger brother of Olivia Spencer, played by soap opera veteran Chrystal Chappell.
Ramsey remained on contract there for two years (2000-2002), but he would make subsequent appearances over the next six years. In the meantime, he tried his hand at comedy and landed a role on the FOX sitcom Luis, but the program would only last for one season.
Ramsey eventually joined the cast of CSI Miami in the recurring role of audio/visual technician Dave Benton. He also had a recurring role on the WB series Charmed, as well as several films, including Slippery Slope, Bitter Sweet, and Dark Honeymoon. He received critical acclaim for his role in the independent film Latter Days.
A sampling of Ramsey’s other television credits includes guest roles on House M.D., Heroes, The Event, and Grey’s Anatomy. He starred in the NBC primetime serial The Playboy Club and has appeared as a main character on the web series Venice created by his former co-star Crystal Chappell.
Since 2017, he has appeared on the ABC soap opera General Hospital as Henrik, AKA Peter August. That same year, he entered into a relationship with actress Laura Wright, who plays Carly Corinthos on the same series. His character was killed off in early 2022.
