It has been a grind being away at college for Cameron Webber on General Hospital — what with none of his friends being with him and being away from his family. He returned somewhat recently when Spencer was presumed dead, but it was a brief stay. So, while there isn’t much for the young man to be celebrating, the same can’t be said for his portrayer, William Lipton.
Happy Birthday, William Lipton!
That’s because he was born on June 2, 2003, in San Francisco, California, which means that this talented young performer is turning 21 years old today! GH is Lipton’s first major work as an actor, but his love for the craft manifested at a very early age.
He appeared in his first stage play when he was 6 years old. Subsequently, he appeared in several theatrical productions, including ACT’s A Christmas Carol and Broadway By the Bay’s Les Misérables.
Lipton’s credits include the short films Finding Hammy and A Girl Named Khan and the feature-length The Adventures of Thomasina Sawyer. He has been playing Cameron Webber on GH since August 10, 2018.
Outside of his acting, Lipton is known for his singing, songwriting, and guitar playing. He is a founding member of the band WJM — which was featured in an episode of the NBC variety series Little Big Shots. He’s shown off his musical skills on GH, a few times as well, and gave us a beautiful song as Cam at Elizabeth and Franco’s wedding reception a while back, in addition to performing at the Nurses Ball.
Among Lipton’s many hobbies are basketball, baseball, tennis, golf, soccer, water polo, and swimming. He also has two black belts in Taekwondo.
