Things are finally looking better for Dante on General Hospital as he’s continuing to recover. Luckily, life is pretty great for performer Dominic Zamprogna too — who’s currently celebrating a major milestone.
Happy Birthday, Dominic Zamprogna
That’s because he was born on April 21, 1979, in Hamilton, Ontario, which means that this fan-favorite star is turning 44 years old today! Despite initially harboring dreams of becoming a professional athlete, Zamprogna launched his acting career with a small role in F/X2, an action thriller.
That was followed by guest appearances on a plethora of primetime programs, including Counterstrike, Tales from the Crypt, Are You Afraid of the Dark, and Ready or Not. He also appeared in a number of made-for-television movies, such as Wojeck: Out of the Fire, The Book of Jamie G, and The Stalking of Laurie Show.
Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, Wind at My Back, Da Vinci’s Inquest, and Battlestar Galactica were among the many series that Zamprogna worked on in a recurring capacity. Between 2001 and 2005, he starred in all 70 episodes of the drama series Edgemont.
In 2009, he joined the cast of ABC soap General Hospital and made his debut as Dominic Pirelli in June of that year. One month later, “Dominic” was revealed to be the alias of Detective Dante Falconeri, who was eventually outed as the product of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Olivia Falconeri’s (Lisa LoCicero) teenage fling.
Zamprogna remained with the soap until the Summer of 2018, at which point his request to be released from his contract was granted. He returned a year later for a brief reprisal and, thankfully is back where he belongs now.
Among his other credits are roles in Flash Gordan, The L Word, Smallville, and The Bionic Woman. He also supplied a voice to characters in both The Magic School Bus and The Never Ending Story.
