There’s a lot going on with General Hospital’s Sasha these days. She is healing after a tough year and trying to get her life in order but is oblivious to her mother-in-law’s, Gladys Corbin, mishandling of her funds. Luckily, life isn’t so complicated for performer Sofia Mattsson who has a major milestone to celebrate.
That’s because she was born on June 24, in Stockholm, Sweden which means that this talented younger actress is celebrating her birthday today! Mattsson immigrated to California in order to pursue her dream of becoming an actress — just as her older sister, Helena, had done before her.
Among Mattsson’s early credits are a recurring role in the TV series Campus Security, guest appearances on NCIS, Drive Share, and StartUp, as well as roles in both made-for-TV movies — Unstrung and Long Lost Daughter and feature films Jurassic City, Adrenochrome, LoveJacked, and Gothic Harvest.
Mattsson made her General Hospital debut on September 18, 2018, and she has remained a member of the cast ever since — barring a small hiatus between December 2018 and February 2019.
Mattsson’s other acting credits include roles in a number of short films (including Shame on Me, Hollywood Miles, and The Therapist), and features (such as My Husband’s Secret Wife and The Wrong Husband), and the documentary Becoming Bond.
Mattsson is a martial arts and yoga enthusiast, as well as a talented pianist, singer, and dancer. She and her sister Helena are also the designers and distributors of a vegan handbag collection called Ava Carrington. The actress gave birth to her first child, a son, on July 26, 2021.
