Detective James Nathan West may no longer be alive on General Hospital, but fans of actor Ryan Paevey still adore him and wish him the best always, especially on a day like this when he is celebrating a major milestone.

That’s because he was born on September 24, 1984, in Torrance, CA, which means that this talented thespian is turning 38 years old today! As a model and music video actor, Paevey worked opposite famous names ranging from Katy Perry to Cher to Christina Aguilera and Robin Thicke.
After being encouraged to try his hand at “real acting,” Paevey began hitting the audition circuit and quickly landed a role on the ABC daytime soap, General Hospital.
Paevey joined the soap’s cast as Nathan West, a newly hired detective at the fictional Port Charles Police Department. He was quickly paired opposite Kirsten Storms, who plays Maxie Jones, and their characters emerged as an incredibly popular romantic duo.

Paevey remained at GH from December 2013 until February 2018, and then Nathan took a bullet in the line of duty and was fatally wounded.
Outside of daytime, Paevey is known for appearing in a number of original made-for-television films produced by the Hallmark Channel, including Harvest Love, Hope at Christmas, the Mr. Darcy franchise, and A Summer Romance. He also appeared on the BET original series Games People Play in a recurring role.
