General Hospital Alum Matt Cohen Celebrates His Birthday

It’s been a while since Dr. Griffin Munro left behind the drama at General Hospital. His portrayer, Matt Cohen, has something big happening today.

That’s because Cohen is celebrating a very special milestone today, his 41st birthday. The actor was born on September 28, 1982. He is a native of Miami, Florida, and he played football and ran track in high school. After, he went to college at Florida State University, where he studied business. During his time in the classroom, he also took some theater classes and the acting bug bit. He moved to Los Angeles after graduating to pursue a career in entertainment.

After a stint on Supernatural as Young John Winchester/Michael, Cohen landed the role of Father/Dr. Griffin Munro on GH, and he stayed in the role from 2016 to 2019. However, in September 2022, Cohen posted something on Instagram that gave fans hope that he’d be returning to the good guy role in Port Charles very soon. He returned for one episode in July of last year.

Cohen’s other television acting credits include South of Nowhere (Aiden Dennison), 90210 (Jeremy), How to Get Away With Murder (Levi Wescott), Kings of Con (Matt Cochran), and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders (Ryan Garrett). The star also acted in the television movies His Secret Marriage and Holiday Date.

In 2011, Cohen married his South of Nowhere co-star Mandy Musgrave. The couple welcomed a son, Macklin, in 2015.
