It’s been quite a while since Garren Lake played Oscar Nero on General Hospital. That’s because Oscar died of cancer in 2019. However, he’s been mentioned on the show lately since Drew is creating a pediatric sports program that will benefit young hospital patients who are long-term and named it after his son Oscar. But the show isn’t the only one remembering Oscar recently, as Lake’s fans have also been happy to bump into him in public.
Spotted in a Store
Garren Lake, who also goes by Garren Stitt and sometimes just Lake!, posted a fun video on Instagram with the caption, “Bro thinks he Fousey 💀 [Twitch – GarrenLake] #reels #garrenlake.” We had to look it up to find out what he was talking about, but Fousey is apparently a well-known YouTuber who, along with Lake, also has a Twitch channel.
In the video titled “Garren Lake crashes out after a fan asks for a picture 💀,” Lake asked, “Will I Get stopped in here?” Sure enough, less than a nanosecond later, two young women approached him, and one asked, “My friend took a picture with you earlier. Can I take a picture with you?” He eagerly replied, “Sure,” and then said to the women, “Hey, what’s up, guys? Let’s do it.” But just as the young woman was going to take the selfie, he stopped her.

He Questioned the Fan’s Motive
“Wait, I have a quick question,” Lake said, adding, “What is this picture gonna do for you?” The woman said, “Nothing,” and added that she would probably show her school friends. Lake continued, “Like…is it going to make you financially, like, more stable? Is it gonna like, help you achieve a goal in some sort?” She responded, “No,” and he then asked, “So you taking a picture with me…how does that benefit you?”

Confused by his line of questioning, the fan tried to explain, “Because I can tell someone else.” Lake immediately dropped the pretense and revealed, “I’m just f*****g with you. I’m just kidding.” The fan responded that she knew, and they took the selfie. One fan who also remembered his time on GH commented, “U r missed as Oscar on General Hospital! 🥺🥺🥺🥺.”
Who knows, maybe Lake will one day return to the soap as a different character.
