Jasper “Jax” Jacks has already left Port Charles and there have been numerous reports on his portrayer, Ingo Rademacher, having exited General Hospital over the Disney (which owns ABC and GH) mandate in which employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19. Now, Rademacher has shared his thoughts on leaving.
Rademacher’s full statement can be seen and heard in the Instagram post/video below. In it, the actor wanted to let his loyal followers know how much he appreciates their support since joining GH back in 1996.
“Good morning, guys,” Rademacher began. “This is my official video to say I’m no longer on [General Hospital], which I never got a chance to do…I’m sorry that I didn’t put out this video early…”
While the actor addressed the vaccine mandate, how news of his departure was handled, and other thoughts, he primarily kept the focus of this video on his appreciation for his loyal fans.
“[T]his is about thanking you guys, the fans of the show and also the GH crew and cast,” Rademacher says. “I was on the show for 25 years. They were like my family a lot of the people there. I was hoping to play Jax for another 10 or 25 years. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. I want to thank you guys for sticking with Jax for 25 years…”
“I’ve enjoyed meeting many of you over the years. I enjoy reading all of your amazing positive comments,” the actor continued. “I try to read all the direct messages as well…some of the comments have blown me away.”
“Just a big thank you to all of you guys,” the actor concluded. “I really appreciate it. Thank you so much for supporting me for 25 years.” This isn’t the last that viewers will hear from Ingo Rademacher. “I will have more news later on, but for now, just wanted to thank all of you amazing fans. Thank you, guys. I really appreciate it.”
Does this mean the actor will be taking on another role either in the soap world or somewhere else? Ingo Rademacher played Thorne Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful for a year starting in 2017. Rademacher is also known to TV viewers for his appearance on Dancing With the Stars. He competed in Season 16 of the dance reality competition series going all the way to the semi-finals.
