While General Hospital viewers haven’t seen Parry Shen’s Brad in Port Charles since his exit in May, the actor has kept plenty busy off-screen. He’s not only become a soap opera fan favorite, but also has a strong horror following after appearing in the Hatchet series of slasher flicks. He’s also known for his humor and creativity, which he shares frequently on social media. His life updates have entertained the fans, and he recently leaned into his clever life hacks that were intended to make everyday tasks easier.

The World Should Know

Shen first dipped into the life hack world with a video showing fans how to cook corn on the cob in the microwave with the husk still on. That trick, which he described as something “The World Should Know,” was meant to kick off a series of simple, but game-changing tips. In his latest Instagram post, he wrote, “My 2nd ‘Helpful Honda’ type video highlighting stuff that I like to refer to as things ‘The World Should Know…’ This item will allow you to go YEARS without having to refill your kitchen soap dispenser. You’re welcome!”

In his video, he showed his sink’s soap dispenser as being empty, and groaned about having to refill it because the container on the underside of the sink was too small. Refilling it becomes a pain, “Because there’s no aeration. It all comes bubbling out, and then you wait till the bubbles subside, you pour a little bit more, and then finally after 20 minutes it’s all finally filled up…” He paused and looked deeply into the camera, continuing with, “Until one month later, when you got to fill it up again.”

A Cheap Fix That Lasts for Years

The solution Shen highlighted is a budget-friendly product that allows the soap dispenser at the sink to connect directly to a giant bottle of soap under the counter. “Enter this amazing product that costs just $13, and it’s basically a long tube that connects to your soap dispenser,” Shen explained. Thus, instead of constantly fighting bubbles and spills trying to refill it, the dispenser now draws straight from the large bottle, as he demonstrated.

One fan who appreciated his recommendation wrote, “I don’t have one of these dispensers now, but I remember dealing with this in my previous home. The struggle is real. Great tip!” Amongst the requests for him to return to GH, another follower gushed, “Oh my! This is life-changing!!! What a great lil kitchen helper. 🙌🏻.”

And a relieved viewer praised Shen with, “I thought I was the only one dealing with this insanity 😂.” The actor hilariously replied to the fan: “@cat_guerra7 NEVER AGAIN! WE WILL TAKE BACK OUR SANITY!!!” (Check out Shen’s suggestion that the show revisit the Asian Quarter storylines.)
