Much like soap star Cary Christopher (Thomas, Days of Our Lives), General Hospital’s Finola Hughes has lent her voice to an animated short. In this instance, it’s for a new app to help pet owners find their lost furry friends. Hughes is an ardent animal lover and her partnering with Petco Love Foundation will help raise awareness of their new venture.

Lost No Longer

GH star Hughes (Anna) recently posted about adopting a cat named Petunia on Instagram,  writing, “Yesterday I got to meet one of my hero’s @kittenxlady Hannah does such amazing, wonderful work being a refuge and allowing small animals to become healthy before finding their forever homes. @billiebcatering & I applied to adopt a kitten from her, and here we all are! Meet Petunia 💕💕💕💕.” She shared pics of Petunia who is now in a loving home.

Recently, Hughes has joined up with the Petco Love Foundation which has created a networking platform for owners to share information about a lost pet, as well as a resource for people who found a pet that’s clearly wandered away from home. Hughes has voiced a cat named Lily for the short, My Ruff Day: Pawparazzi, which helps folks understand how its platform can help owners reconnect with lost pets.

Star Power at Work

According to a release by Petco’s Love Lost site, owners can find a lost pet by, “Uploading a photo of your pet to register them into the lost and found database. If they go missing, the image recognition software helps locate your pet when someone uses a photo of an animal they have found and a reunion occurs as quickly as possible.” Hughes’ Pawparazzi animated short is the third in a series of My Ruff Day videos created by Petco.

The first was called Moving Day in which Home Improvement alum Jonathan Taylor Thomas voices a lost dog named Boomer. The second video starred Christina Applegate (Married…with Children) and Mark Consuelos (All My Children) as Poppy and Otto in the short Fireworks Fiasco. With star power like Hughes making fans aware of this new service, pet owners can register their pets and feel secure knowing they’ll be found should something unthinkable happen.
