Finola Hughes & Ian Buchanan Honor the Late Angela McCluskey

General Hospital stars Ian Buchanan, who played Duke, and Finola Hughes, who plays Anna, pay tribute to Angela McCluskey, a singer for the ’90s band the Wild Colonials. She passed away on March 14 following emergency surgery for an arterial tear. She was 64.

“Fly High my Sweet Angel! I Will Love you Forever!” Buchanan posted on Instagram, adding four heart emojis to his tribute. Hughes shared: “Heaven has the most beautiful songstress now…..Your kindness, laughter, artistry, your extraordinary voice, will live on in our minds and hearts forever, Angela, Love you so.”

McCluskey was born on February 28, 1960 in Glasgow, Scotland. Her passing was announced on her Instagram account. The post read: “We are devastated to tell you that our beloved Angela McCluskey has left us to be with her fellow angels. Never did anyone live life more fully, love more generously, sing more… well, just… more. Angela sang just as she breathed. Her life was a song, and she was music. She will be missed more than any of us can say, but our love for her and her love for her beloved Paul, her siblings Gerard, Alan, and Muriel, and all her family and friends will live forever. Please light a candle for our darling.”

The Wild Colonials built a following with their albums Fruit of Life (1994) and This Can’t be Life (1996). The band was comprised of McCluskey, her composer husband, Paul Cantelon, and other musicians. Later, McCluskey released her first solo album, which was titled The Things We Do.

McCluskey’s vocals can be heard on the soundtracks for the films Rachel Getting Married and The Beat that My Heart Skipped, and on the TV series Grey’s Anatomy.
